CWR Value Proposition -
Environmental Community
A Focus on
the Environment
The EPA estimates that about 850 billion gallons of untreated
wastewater and storm water are released as CSOs each year in the
United States and that between 23,000 and 75,000 SSOs occur each
year in the United States, resulting in additional releases of
between 3 billion and 10 billion gallons of untreated
wastewater.
Inefficient collection systems create many problems because they
unnecessarily deplete groundwater during dry weather and utilize
scarce system capacity during wet weather events, thereby
increasing the likelihood of basement and street-level backups
as well as CSOs/SSOs.
If rehabilitation can be performed quickly, comprehensively and
cost-effectively, it provides many benefits including:
-
Compliance with discharge permit regulations
-
Reducing/eliminating SSOs
-
Reducing/eliminating basement backups
-
Improving public health
-
Improving
groundwater conditions
-
Promoting market
standard measurement and performance standards
-
Promoting
sustainable development (in most cases, existing
assets should be able to support projected 10-20 year
growth)
CWR brings the
highest quality products and privately funded solutions to
existing stakeholders (municipalities, engineers, environmental
groups, elected officials, contractors, etc.) to get the desired
results faster...and delivering those results to the community
with an intelligent impact on sewer rates.
